Layered with fruit, this wine is a great combination of creamy pinot gris characters and fresh clean dry finish. Its charm lies in that it is soft and yet refreshing at the same time.
With grapes sourced from Ants Nest Vineyard in the Waihopai Valley. The vines were planted in 2004 and are pruned on a VSP 2-cane system. This wine was fermented as three different batches in the winery. Each batch has had a different treatment. Cool ferments, lees stirring and indigenous yeast have produced a very complex and interesting wine with finesse and balance and good mid palate weight.
Wine Makers Notes:
This is an elegant and minerally Pinot Gris with aromas of stone fruits such as nectarine and peach. The palate is balanced, weighty, viscous and creamy characters with concentrated fruit notes and a fine acidity. The wine has a long and clean finish.
